Nutrition
and Activity Poster -
We are getting into our Nutrition Unit and one of the most
important areas to know is the MyPyramid and what it means. The
students are to create their own Pyramid to what they think that it
should look like. It should encorporate nutrition as well as
activity in their design. This is due Monday November 16,
2009
Leadership
Points and Notebook -
One
component of this class is leadership. Throughout the semester the
students are working on obtaining 300 leadership points. The first
check of their progress will be November 13, 2009. They will also
need to turn in their notebook for this class. As the students
signed in the beginning of the year, they are to keep all of their
work as well as daily questions in a notebook for organization
purposes as well as to contribute to their leadership points. The
first notebook check will be on November 13,
2009.
Cooking Labs -
Cooking labs are very important to
acheiveing success in this section of class. We have labs every
week typically on Thursday and Friday. In order to be eligible to
cook, a student needs to have ALL work turned in the Tuesday before
a lab.
Car Project -
The students first major project was due on October
7th by 2:15. Students were made very clear of this date and
what that means. However if a student did not turn in this project
they will need to come and meet with me personally. Since this is a
project that is meeting a specific standard in this class (which
means they need to understand it to pass the class) they will need
to create a project of the same calibur to make up for their

Interviews
-
One
of the skills that I feel is very important for students to learn
is the skill of interviewing. Our students are giong to be going
out into the work-world soon and in order to prepare them, I
organize mock interviews with different companies so that the
students can actually experience what it feels like to go through
an interview. The interviews will be set up for the 22nd and 23rd
of October and the students are very much encouraged to dress to
impress for the interview as they will be in a professional
setting.
