Cedarcrest Special
Education Department
CJH houses many special education programs. We have 90+
resource room students and 16 additional students in specialized
programs enrolled at Cedarcrest Junior High. Each of those students
have an IEP (Individualized Educational Plan).
The specialized programs are: Indepenent Living Skills
Program(ILS), Structured Classroom for Autism and FOSS
program(Autism). These program are district programs and
students have to qualify for these type of programs.
Each student is assigned a case manager that will write the
IEP and assist in the students program. This person works
with scheduling the student, being an advocate and providing
information to the general education teachers. If you would
like to know who your childs casemanager is please e-mail me and I

Grading Policy for
my classes
Tests, assessments and quizzes are 80% of the student's grade.
Classwork s worth 20% of the student's grade.
Students will be graded on the following:
* In-class work*Homework *Projects *Quizzes
*Tests
Each in-class assignments, homework assignment, quiz, and test will
be given a point value when assigned. The grade will be
figured by dividing the points possible by the earned points.
All students are expected to turn in all
assignments on time. Assignments are given so the student can
absorb and learn the concepts we are studying. Assignments
are due at the beginning of the period. Any assignment turned
in late will be accepted for no better than 70% credit. Late
assignments will be accepted up to 1 week after the due date.
Any assignment or assessment turned in on time that receives less
than a C-/70% credit can be redone and turned in for a corrected
grade of a B-/80%. Students are going to have to be
responsible for their work and stay up on assignments. If a
student is absent, he/she has the number of days absent plus two to
turn in missed work before it will be counted as late
No D’s will be given. The students
must complete assignments to a C level. They will be expected
to correct assignments to at least a C level.
Homework
Time will be given to complete most work in class, however there
will be times that work must be completed at home. You are
responsible for turning in assignments on time.
Agenda Use:
The students will write the assignments and due dates in their
agenda and I will initial. Please put a note in the agenda if
you need further information from me.
