Welcome,
I am looking forward to an exciting new year. I have been
teaching for 15 years, this will be my sixteenth. I have
taught at Enumclaw High School, Thunder Mountain Middle School, and
Federal Way High School where I have taught everything from
Advanced Placement Biology and Forensics to Earth Science and
Physical Science. I am also a coach. I will be coaching
football and wrestling at Cougar Mountain Junior High. These
are exciting times for your ninth grade students as they become the
older statesman of Cougar MountainJunior High and we will need them
to give everything they have so that they can have the best
possible year.
In Physical Science we will explore atoms, molecules, chemical
reactions, forces, motion, acceleration, Newton's three laws,
etc. Most of our explorations will involve hands-on
activities, discussion, as well as quizzes and tests. Plan
on a large project each quarter geared towards our topic of
study at the time. There will be an elements project, gel
electrophoresis, Rube-Goldberg devices, and maybe even catapults
(if I can find a way to get it into our schedule). Hopefully
your students will have as much fun as I will have. :)
