Digital Photography I Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 Course Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Fine Art, Occupational or Elective Prerequisite: None College Credit Available Fee: $15 Students are introduced to the techniques and technology of journalistic, fine art and graphic design digital photography. Students will create color and black/white images; as well as being introduced to Photoshop editing tools. From their work, they will create a Photography Portfolio of archival prints and a culminating digital slide show. A 5 or higher mega-pixel camera with manual setting choices is recommended. A limited number of digital cameras are available for overnight and weekend use. Graphic Design Grade Level: 10, 11, 12 repeatable Course Length: Semester Credit: 0.5 Fine Arts, Occupational or Elective Prerequisite: Art Survey, Photography, Drawing, or teacher recommendation Fee: $10.00 Students explore two-dimensional design through the development of typography, logos, trademarks and advertising art. The artistic process is implemented while students create “camera-ready” art with a purpose. Techniques may include hand drawing, block printing, silk screening, use of the computer as a graphic design tool, and digital image manipulation. Creating work for graphic design competitions, students will begin a graphic design portfolio. updated 1.30.10 |
