On behalf of our great staff, let me be the first to welcome you to Graham-Kapowsin High School. As August is now upon us it means that our summer is slowly coming to a close and your first year of high school is just around the corner. This year school begins on August 31st for Sophomores. September 1st is the first day for all students. Sophomores will receive their schedules on August 31st. Schedules will be available for students to pick-up in the commons from 7:10 to 7:40. Juniors and Seniors my pick up their scheuldes at the Junior/Senior Orientation Day on Wednesday, August 30th. Students who have questions about their schedule should contact their counselor. Counselors are assigned to students based on their last name: Ms. Gates—A to Gi, 683-6178 Ms. Greyeyes—Le to Ri, 683-6179 Ms. Knight—F to La, 683-6187 Mr. Stallman—Ro to Z, 683-6177 The Graham-Kapowsin School day begins at 7:40 and ends at 2:10. Please make plans now to arrive to school with plenty of time to get to your first class prepared and ready to learn. Included in this newsletter is a list of supplies that you should bring with you on the first day of school. In addition, please take time to read the dress code so you are dressed appropriately for school. Graham-Kapowsin is a closed campus so students will not be allowed to leave campus until 2:10 unless they are released for running start classes at a junior college. Students who need to leave early for appointments need to check out in the attendance office and must be picked up by their parent or guardian. If other arrangements are needed plans should be made with a building administration and Ms. Singer our attendance clerk. As you plan for the
school year take time to think about three things: 1) your academic
goals for this school
year 2) activities/clubs in which you would like to participate,
and 3) how you will maintain success in all your classes this
year. I look forward to seeing you on August 30! Jennifer
